The Music

The greatest album tracks on Tellurian Radio

Music is the international language, I doubt there is any culture on the planet that does not have music. It is a natural expression of humanity from the earliest of ages and from the earliest of times. It is used for soothing, giving solace telling stories and spreading the news and of course partying. From the mother sooth her child to the folk singer spreading the news of memorable events, it has always been with us. In the recent centuries the music has become more complex and as cultures have intermingled more diverse.

Now we find ourselves overwhelmed by the sheer scale of that diversity, genre upon genre all driven by a commercial behemoth that is not culturally motivated but financially. Here at Tellurian Radio we remember a time when things were much simpler, if you liked a song you played it. We were not herded into genre pens like cattle due to our ethnicity or culture. As a tennager I liked Pop music, I also liked folk music and the blues, Leadbelly, Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker. Then when I discovered the electric blues of the likes of Eric Clapton and John Mayall I was like a kid in a sweetshop. Nobody ever told me I wasn’t supposed to like any of that music.

When I started in radio in the 70’s freeform radio was exactly that, we played Led Zeppelin back to back with Joni Mitchell or Curtis Mayfield and Jackson Browne back to back with Deep Purple or King Crimson. Guess what? Millions of people loved it. At Tellurian Radio we don’t have a music policy, we just gathered together a pile of those great tracks we grew up listening to and loved and still do today. I dare say in exactly the same way you do, added to that in the spirit of the evolution of music we play the new stuff too; we are definitely not just an oldies station. The only stipulation is that they must fit into the flow of our sound.

So kick back and enjoy the beautiful music we share with you 24/7, You know whenever you tune in exactly what your’e going to get.

Love, Peace & Musical understanding.
